Q. What about postage for the Highlands and Islands?
A. There are 2 zones for the Highlands and Islands.  Zone 1 for postcodes IV, HS, KA27-28, KW, PA20-49, PA60-78, PH17-26, PH30-44, PH49-50, ZE (Sorry next day delivery option is not available). Zone 2 for postcodes BT, IM, TR21-25 (Sorry next day delivery option is not available).  Lighter items will have the same postage charge as for England, Wales and parts of Scotland.

Q. What do I do if I need my order in a hurry?
A. Order using the Next day delivery option or call The Little Hen Company on 0845 130 6889 or Mobile 07902 875 115 to speak to Jessie or Mark.  Orders received before 10.30am will be shipped the same day by either courier Next Day Delivery or Royal Mail Special Delivery, please leave a contact telephone number just in case we need to contact you about your order.  Orders received after this time may not be shipped the same day. 

Q. Do you ship overseas?
A. Yes, our postage is automatically calculated by the weight of the items; please select either Europe or Rest of the World at the checkout.  Europe applies to the following countries Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Azores, Balearic Islands, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canary Islands, Corsica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark,  Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Irish Republic, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Madeira, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vatican City State.  The Rest of the World is all other countries not on the Europe list!

Q. I want to order online and pick up from your Leeds shop, what do I do?
A. Add the items in your basket and then select the “collect from Leeds shop” option at the checkout.  Our address is The Little Hen Company, 125 New Road Side (A65), Horsforth, Leeds LS18 4QD. Opening times Monday-Saturday 9.00am-5.00pm and Sunday 10.00am-4.00pm.

Q. How long will it take to get my order?
A. 5 to 10 working days or sooner.  All orders are sent either 1st Royal Mail Delivery or via a courier.  We try to pack our orders as soon as they come in and ship them out the same or the next day. Orders received over a weekend will be shipped on Monday.  Overseas delivery times will vary from country to country.

Q. What happens if I’m out?
A. A card should be left at your delivery address with instructions on how to get a redelivery or your parcel or details of the Royal Mail or Courier depot.

Q. My toys are for a gift will you ensure the receipt comes to me?
A. Yes, if the goods are shipped to a separate address the receipt will be sent to the billing address

Q. Can you gift wrap my order?
A. Sorry, this isn’t something that we offer at the moment but we can add in a personalised message if you email it to us.

Q. The item is out of stock on your website, how long will it be before you get more stock in?
A. We’re ordering all the time from our suppliers.  Please contact us for an accurate restocking date.

Q. I am having difficulties ordering can I speak to a real person?
A. Yes, Jessie or Mark will be happy to talk you through the online ordering system or can take your over the phone.  Please leave a message and we’ll get back to you ASAP. 

Q. Can I visit your shop?

Q. I'm ordering from a School, Early Years Centre, Pre-School or Play Group and need to pay via cheque, BACS or some other institute specific payment system, can I still order from you?
A. Yes, we try to be as flexible as possible regarding schools and other institutes and organisations.  Please select “Purchase Order” at the checkout and then contact us to let us know how you’ll be paying.  Also take a look at our special “Schools” page by following the link in the top right hand side of our website.

Q. I’m not sure what toy to buy can you help?
A. Yes, The Little Hen Company is owned and run by Jessie and Mark who have three young children who are always testing the products.  We should be able to help you select a product for your budget.

Q. Do you price match?
A. Sorry no, our products are already competitively priced.

Q. Is BRIO compatible with PlanCity?
A. Yes, please call us for any further product questions.

Q. What ages are your toys recommend for?
A. All our toys come with guidance age ranges, if you need to know any further details regarding a specific product please contact us.  All toys with small parts are recommended for 3+ years.

Q. I really want something for Christmas will you always have stock available?
A. Please try and order as soon as possible for Christmas gifts so that you can guarantee getting all of the items you want.  We do have high stock levels for Christmas but sometimes we do sell out and are unable to get any further stock. All delivery are subject to the weather permitting and we can not be held responsible for any delays due to inclement weather conditions.

Q. When is your last guaranteed shipping date before Christmas?
A. The last shipping date for Christmas 2010 Standard Delivery is Monday 13th December 2010 and Next Day Delivery is Monday 20th December.  All orders received after this date will still be shipped out but no guarantees can be offered for pre-Christmas delivery. You may still pick up from our Leeds shop until 4.00pm on Saturday December 24th.

Q. Why has my order come in a used box?
A. We receive all of our deliveries in boxes and we reuse as much of the packaging as possible.  We only reuse boxes that have contained toys so you can be sure they are nice and clean.  We pack our goods in crumpled up brown paper so that you can recycle it easily; it also means there are none of those horrid polystyrene chips getting all over your house!
